Building this site

I’m presently struggling w/ building this site based on a couple of borrowed templates. The base template came via TextPattern Resources which eventually pointed to a template repository. I chose Plain. Then, Musings of an Engineer pointed to Cody Lindley (I like the layout and really like the top pictures).
At this point, the site is a gluing together of the two approaches mentioned above. There’s some cross-browser issues…
